Argolis Smargo Triple Card Reader / Argolis Triple Reader with 3 Card Readers

The Argolis Smargo Triple Reader is the successor of the most popular Smargo SmartReader Plus. The functionality of both readers is the same, however the Argolis Triple Reader provides 3 smartcard slots instead of 1.

Argolis Triple Reader can be cascaded with more SmartReaders (>100) in 1 system using a USB Hub.

Works on all Dreambox Models, Vu+, Xtrend ET Series, Air Digital Zgemma and other Linux STB's with USB connection that already support the original Smargo Smartreader.

WARNING: DO NOT CONNECT ARGOLIS TRIPLE READER TO A PC / LAPTOP, IT WILL DAMAGE THE UNIT AND RENDER IT USELESS. ONLY CONNECT TO A STB (SET TOP BOX) RUNNING ENIGMA2.
WE TEST EACH UNIT IS WORKING, BEFORE DESPATCHING.

The Argolis Triple Reader is a USB cardreader / programmer based on a powerful ARM processor. The Argolis Triple Reader incorporates an integrated USB to Serial converter, which enables the Triple SmartReader to work with all standard Phoenix compatible applications.

You will require oscam to be installed, which has been compiled to support libusb. (USB Driver Support)

Setting up Argolis Smargo Triple Card Reader on an Enigma2 Box.

Connect Argolis Smargo Triple Card Reader to Enigma2 Box USB socket and reboot the box.

Open a Telnet/Terminal window and type the following and press return...

lsusb

The device ID you are looking for is, ID 0403:6011. You can see from my example, the Smargo Triple Reader connected to my box is on Bus 006 Device 002: ID 0403:6011.

Open a Telnet/Terminal window and type the following and press return...

dmesg

Argolis Triple Reader will be assigned three virtual comports:

/dev/ttyUSB0
/dev/ttyUSB1
/dev/ttyUSB2

Which you can use in your oscam.server config file.
